If you’re interested in a very easy spider to keep and want to learn more about native spiders, then this large European species will be great for you.

 

This Eratigena sp. is from our own captive bread collection and we have plenty of slings available.

 

A wonderful species to keep and observe with some very interesting behaviours.

 

How We Keep Ours:

We keep our Giant House Spiders in cricket tubs or sweet jars that are kept on their side.

 

You can add in a dry substrate and bits of bark if you wish.

 

These spiders prefer a dryer enclosure.

 

Food:

Small crawling insects, green bottle flies and blue Bottle flies

 

You may need give your Giant House Spider a drink a few times a month depending on how often you feed and the temperature of your enclosure.

 

Temperature:

18ºC - 30ºC

 

Humidity:

30-60%
