Brachypelma albopilosum is a species of tarantula, often known as the curly hair tarantula.

The species is native to Nicaragua and Costa Rica and They are terrestrial, opportunistically burrowing spiders more so as slings.

Food - Live insects; crickets, cockroaches, larvae. Feed your tarantula 1-4 times a month.

 

Description - Curly hairs are a plump-bodied spider, covered with dark brown to black bristles as a juvenile and darken as the tarantula ages. It has a golden-bronze sheen due to longer gold bristles that cover the whole body, which are particularly dense on the hind legs.

In captivity both male and female can grow over 6 inches, however, males live for about 5 years while females can live up to 20+ years.

 

Habitat - These tarantulas are often found in tropical scrubland, either around the base of large trees, near rivers, or in patches of cleared rain forest.

 

How I Keep Them - Deep substrate giving them a wet season and a dry season. I always keep a full water bowl in the enclosure.
